Dayana Lucas develops practical research in expanded drawing, along with her work as a graphic designer in the cultural arena, having collaborated with musicians, visual artists and several Portuguese cultural institutions, including the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. In spite of her youth, Dayana Lucas has been gaining remarkable recognition in the past few years, along with the distinction of a solo exhibition at the Serralves Contemporary Art Museum in Porto. She views drawing as a medium which is experienced through the body, and her work highlights the importance of the associated process, gesture and action. Drawing is assumed as a possibility for a para-sculptural presence as she explores the line with disarming simplicity.
