La Maison de Rendez-Vous is pleased to present works by Yuji Agematsu in dialogue with On Kawara, two masters of the existential, whose production is embedded in the everyday practice of being alive. Agematsu’s work here comprises one of his signature calendars (‘zip’), as well as larger items, all of which were found on the streets of Mexico City during a period of activity there. Materials range from everything from a banana peel to plastic bags to objects that thwart identification. The date, time and location of each discovery is noted in a small book – a custom strongly reminiscent of the legendarily diaristic component central to On Kawara’s practice.
