Osart Gallery was established in Milan in 2008 by Andrea Sirio Ortolani. Since its inception, Osart Gallery has focused on presenting the work of the most influential Italian and international artists who developed their artistic experiments during the 1960s and 1970s.
Osart Gallery is pleased to present ‘Photosequences’, a group exhibition with mostly conceptual photographic works – produced between 1969 and 1976 – by Vito Acconci, Duane Michals, Dennis Oppenheim, and Gina Pane. The show aims to analyze the idea of sequence in accordance with the usage of the photographic medium.
The sequence, in fact, not only ‘animates’ the image, but also gives the work a narrative rhythm which is essential to engage the viewer with the real story.
