Madragoa is a contemporary art gallery founded in 2016 by Matteo Consonni and Goncalo Jesus, based in the historical neighbourhood of Madragoa.
The project of the gallery examines how to establish a deep conversation with the city, by representing young Portuguese talents and enabling the local production of each exhibition, as well as presenting emerging artists from abroad, setting a dialogue within global artistic practices and local craftsmanship and ideas.
For Art Brussels 2020, Madragoa presents a group exhibition featuring works by Luis Lázaro Matos, Rodrigo Hernández, Joanna Piotrowska and Belén Uriel, reflecting on the relation between architecture and the body, exploring visions and fantasies related to houses and their interiors.
