Callewaert Vanlangendonck Gallery, founded in Antwerp in 2012, displays lyrical and geometrically abstract artists from the following groups: Cobra, Art Abstrait, Art Construit, Formes, G58, the New Flemish School, and the ZERO movement, as well as contemporary artists whose work is consistent with this visual language.
Serge Vandercam was a Belgian photographer, painter, draftsman and sculptor. Vandercam joined Cobra in 1948 and from 1952 onwards became known for his informal artworks. He regularly worked and exhibited in Italy and Paris and befriended artists such as Piero Manzoni, Pierre Soulages and Cy Twombly, with whom he exhibited in 1959. He often appears in overviews of the informal investigations of the immediate post-war era – as much in the context of the international spectrum as in the desire to promote a new Belgian artistic scene. His oeuvre is multi-faceted and frees itself with a liberation of movement and experimental research. Callewaert Vanlangendonck Gallery works together with the Vandercam Estate in promoting the artist on an international level.
