Art Brussels welcomes two new Committee Members


Art Brussels is happy to welcome two new Committee Members: Tania Doropoulos (Timothy Taylor Gallery - London) in the International Selection Committee and Eva Birkenstock (Director, Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen - Düsseldorf) in the Discovery Committe.

Tania Doropoulos has held curatorial positions in public and private organisations and galleries, including Anna Schwartz Gallery: Melbourne and Sydney; and Artspace, Sydney; as well as curating and producing exhibitions and publications independently. She was the Curator of the Australian Pavilion, Venice Biennale, 2009. From 2010–2014 she undertook graduate studies in curating at the Royal College of Art, London. Doropoulos is currently Director of Exhibitions at Timothy Taylor, London, where she has been since 2013. She is a member of the International Selection Committee for Art Brussels, has served on various not-for-profit boards and has presented papers in Australia, the UK and Southeast Asia. Recent edited publications include Simon Hantaï (Timothy Taylor, 2016) and Josephine Meckseper: 10 minutes after (Sternberg Press and Timothy Taylor, 2016).

Eva Birkenstock is director of the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande and Westfalen in Düsseldorf. After studying Art History and Cultural Anthropology in Cologne, Berlin and Havana, she worked at the Kunstverein in Hamburg and co-directed Halle für Kunst Lüneburg. From 2010-2016 she was curator of the KUB Arena, the KUB Billboards, and the KUB Projects at Kunsthaus Bregenz. In 2014 she was curator of Mini / Goethe Institute Curatorial Residencies Ludlow38 in New York, since 2015 she has been curating the LISTE Performance Project in Basel.
