Luis Adelantado

Stand: a38

Darío Villalba is an essential artist for understanding the Spanish artistic landscape of the mid-1970’s. His contemporary language contribution – by combining photography, painting and sculpture – explains the international impact of his work at that time, at the 35th Venice Biennial and 12th São Paulo Biennial, and recently at the 14 Lyon Biennial. Dario’s gaze falls on cities’ vestiges, unprotected figures and stranded people or homeless people who recover their dignity through the artist’s eyes
